FurrySide Update: Club, Parcels, and Plans

Hello FurrySide residents and friends!

It’s been a while since our last update, and we wanted to share what we’ve been working on, what’s available right now, and what you may notice changing in-world over the next couple weeks. If you’ve been waiting for a good time to jump in, explore, and claim your place on the grid, this is a pretty solid moment to do it.

Urban Rhythm is being built in FurrySide

One of our biggest projects right now is building Urban Rhythm, a full club space here in FurrySide.

If you know Urban Rhythm from Second Life, you already know the vibe: music, events, and a welcoming space where people can show up as themselves and feel like they belong. Our goal is to bring that same energy to FurrySide as we continue growing the grid and building more reasons for residents to log in, hang out, and connect.

This is still actively under construction, but progress is moving along, and we’re excited to start hosting events once the space is ready. We’ll share more details (including opening plans and event nights) as we get closer.


8 Free Parcels on Howl Haven (First Come, First Serve)

We’re offering 8 resident parcels on our starter mainland, Howl Haven, each with around 4,600 prims. They’re ideal for a starter home, a hangout spot, a small shop, a gallery, or just your own little “I live here now” corner of FurrySide.

These are first come, first serve, and once all 8 are claimed, they’re gone (until we open more).

Requirements & activity policy
To keep Howl Haven active and fair for everyone:

  • You must be registered on FurrySide to claim and keep a parcel.

  • If an account shows 90 days of no activity, we reserve the right to reclaim the parcel and offer it to another resident.

We’re not trying to be strict, we just want these parcels to go to people who are actually using them and helping the mainland feel alive.

How to claim one:

  • Open a ticket at billing.furryside.com, or

  • If you see me (Wyatt Parker) in-world, send me an IM and I’ll help get you set up.

Welcome Region rebuild coming soon (pardon the mess!)

We’ll be rebuilding our Welcome Region soon to improve the first-time experience for new residents and make onboarding smoother.

That means you may see some areas looking unfinished, moved around, or temporarily messy while we rebuild and reorganize. So if you log in and think, “Did a tornado hit Welcome?” the answer is: not a tornado, just us.

Thanks in advance for your patience while we improve the front door of the grid.

Discord server: almost ready

Our Discord server is under construction as well, and it’s almost finished.

The goal is to have a clean, organized space for announcements, support, and community chat without it feeling overwhelming. We’ll post the invite link as soon as everything is ready to open.

As we head deeper into the holiday season, we want to wish all of our residents and their families a safe, warm, and happy holiday.

1. Land Purchases Are Open!

Our brand-new billing system is officially up and running. That means you can now snag your very own FurrySide region in just a few clicks:

  1. Click “Purchase Land” at the top of furry­side­grid.com.

  2. Register for our billing portal (note: it’s a separate account from your Grid login).

  3. Place your order and start planning your dream corner of FurrySide!

Whether you’re building a cozy lodge, an epic clubhouse, or a tranquil forest retreat, now’s your chance to claim prime real estate on the Grid.

2. Instant Support—Chat & Tickets

Got questions along the way? We’ve got you covered:

  • Live Chat: Look for the chat bubble in the bottom-right corner of any page.

  • Ticket System: Accessible directly inside the billing portal for any billing-or region-related inquiries.

Our support team is standing by to help you 24/7—no more waiting for email replies or wrestling with confusing forms.

3. New! FurrySide Public Works Creator Program

We need starter avatars, décor pieces, textures and more—and we want to reward the artists making them. If you can create original content that FurrySide Public Works will use, here’s what you get:

  • Free Region Access: No land fees for as long as you’re actively producing approved assets.

  • Targeted Asset List: We’ll supply a rolling wishlist—think entry-level avatars, furniture, foliage packs, signage, sandbox toys, etc.

  • Proof of Authorship Required: Show us source files, work-in-progress shots or a brief creation walkthrough. All submissions must be your original work—no recycled or ripped content.

To apply:

  1. Log in to our billing portal.

  2. Open a “Creator Program” ticket.

  3. Attach your proof of creation and let us know which assets you plan to tackle.

Once approved, you’ll be granted your free region and we’ll collaborate on deadlines and priorities.

Welcome to FurrySide Alpha Stage

Welcome to FurrySide! Hi there! I’m Wyatt Parker, the founder of FurrySide, and I’m thrilled to introduce you to our community, share our mission, and update you on our progress.

While I don’t personally identify as a “furry,” I’ve come to embrace the furry community through my many friends and my partner, who is a furry. Their welcoming, friendly, and often delightfully silly nature inspired me to create FurrySide—a space where everyone who feels “different” can find acceptance.

FurrySide isn’t just for furries. It’s a haven for anyone society might label as “different,” whether you’re gay, straight, bi, trans, furry, or even, like me, an Apache attack helicopter (ha!). Here, you’re welcome just as you are.

We stand firmly against discrimination, bullying, and targeted harassment. These behaviors will never be tolerated. As we grow, we’ll continue to outline specific rules and guidelines to ensure FurrySide remains a safe and inclusive space for all.

 

Where Are We Now?
We’re currently building the welcome region and planning to add a “mainland” for parcel rentals. This will give our testers a place to call home or set up shop.

Exciting news: we’ve partnered with Podex Exchange to manage our currency, and FurBucks are officially for sale! Purchasing FurBucks supports the grid, so if you’re a creator, now’s the perfect time to take advantage of free uploads and help shape FurrySide’s economy.

What Are FurrySide Mentors?
FurrySide Mentors are volunteers who welcome new users, introduce them to the world of FurrySide, teach them how to hypergrid travel, and answer any questions they may have.

 

Getting a Full Region
While our store page for ordering full regions isn’t ready yet, you can still get set up! A full region includes 20,000 prims, estate rights, a 100-avatar limit, and more—all for just $10 USD per month. Contact me directly (Wyatt Parker) with your PayPal account to get started.

 

Grid Rules
Our rules are based on common sense:

  • No ageplay. Just don’t.

  • No targeted harassment or bullying.

  • Adult content is allowed, but region ratings must be respected:

    • G: Suitable for grandparents and kids.

    • M: A bit more risqué, but no nudity or sexual activities.

    • A: You get the idea.

We also have a strong commitment to respecting content creators. Whether you choose to charge for your creations or make them free, we’ll honor your wishes. Stolen content has no place here and will be swiftly investigated.
