FurrySide Terms of Service (Terms and Conditions)

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of the FurrySide platform, including our website, services, viewers, servers, and immersive 3D virtual environment (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy and any additional policies we reference (collectively, the “Policies”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

If these Terms conflict with any Policy, these Terms control unless the Policy explicitly states it overrides a specific section of these Terms.

1. Accounts, Access, and Eligibility

1.1 Account Responsibility

You are responsible for all activity on your account and for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials. You agree to provide accurate information and keep it updated. We may suspend or restrict accounts we believe are compromised or used in violation of these Terms.

1.2 Age Requirements

FurrySide has minimum age requirements tied to region maturity ratings:

  • 18+: You may access all regions, including Adult (“A”) regions (subject to verification and access controls).
  • 16–17: You may access General (“G”) and Moderate (“M”) regions. You may not access Adult (“A”) regions.
  • 14–15: You may access General (“G”) regions only. You may not access Moderate (“M”) or Adult (“A”) regions.

No one under 14 may use FurrySide.

1.3 Minors & Guardian Consent

If you are under 18, you represent that you have permission from a parent/legal guardian to use the Service and that your guardian agrees to these Terms on your behalf. We may request proof of consent and may suspend accounts if consent cannot be verified.

1.4 Verification (Age/Location)

Certain regions, content, and activities (especially Adult “A” regions) require age and/or location verification. You agree to provide accurate verification information through our approved process (e.g., ticket system). We may restrict or revoke access if verification fails or if we suspect misuse.

1.5 Region Maturity Ratings (G / M / A)

FurrySide uses region maturity ratings to help users choose appropriate areas and to protect minors. Region owners are responsible for accurately rating their regions and keeping content consistent with the selected rating.

  • G (General, 14+): No nudity, no explicit sexual content, no pornography, and no sexually explicit roleplay in public areas.
  • M (Moderate, 16+): May include stronger language and mature themes, but still prohibits nudity and explicit sexual content.
  • A (Adult, 18+ only): May include nudity and explicit sexual content. Access to Adult-rated regions may require age verification and must follow any access controls required by FurrySide or the region owner.

FurrySide may change a region’s rating, require content changes, restrict access, or remove content/regions if we believe the rating is inaccurate or policy is being violated.

2. Intellectual Property & User Content

2.1 FurrySide IP

FurrySide and its licensors retain all rights in the Service, including software, branding, logos, designs, and other proprietary content. You may not use FurrySide trademarks or branding without our prior written permission.

2.2 Your Content (Creator Rights)

You retain any intellectual property rights you own in content you create, upload, or display on the Service (“User Content”), subject to the licenses you grant in these Terms and any permissions you set in-world.

2.3 License You Grant to FurrySide

You keep ownership of your User Content. However, to operate the Service, you give FurrySide permission to store your content on our servers, display it in-world, and transmit it to other users’ viewers as needed for them to experience the Service. This permission also includes making technical changes that do not materially change your content (such as formatting, compression, caching, backups, or system migrations). FurrySide does not use your content outside the Service except as needed for support, moderation, security, compliance with law, or enforcing these Terms.

2.4 Snapshots & Machinima

FurrySide supports in-world snapshots and machinima as governed by our Snapshot & Machinima Policy. If you display content in publicly accessible areas, you understand it may appear in other users’ snapshots/machinima, subject to that Policy.

2.5 Permissions & Visibility Controls

You are responsible for using permissions tools and region access controls to manage who can see and interact with your content. If you want content to remain private, keep it in private regions or controlled-access areas.

2.6 IP Compliance & Infringement Reports

You may not upload, distribute, or use content that infringes someone else’s rights or violates law. We may remove or restrict content at our discretion. If you believe content violates your rights or our rules, contact support at support@furryside.com with enough detail for us to investigate.

3. Virtual Currency (FurBucks) & Transactions

3.1 FurBucks Are a Limited License

FurrySide may offer virtual tokens called FurBucks for use within the Service. FurBucks provide a limited, revocable license to use certain platform features and participate in in-world transactions. FurBucks are not legal tender and are not a bank account.

3.2 No Guaranteed Value / No Guaranteed Exchange

FurrySide does not guarantee any cash value, exchange rate, or the ongoing availability of any exchange service. Any ability to buy/sell FurBucks through a third party may be changed, limited, suspended, or discontinued.

3.3 Official Exchange

Podex is the only official exchange for FurBucks. Any off-platform buying/selling or unofficial exchange of FurBucks is prohibited and may result in suspension or termination.

3.4 Platform Enforcement

FurrySide may restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts, and may restrict the use of FurBucks within the Service, to address suspected fraud, abuse, errors, chargebacks related to FurrySide services, or policy violations. We may require additional verification for suspicious activity.

3.4.1 Podex Exchange Transactions

Transactions performed through Podex (including buying or selling FurBucks) are processed and administered by Podex under Podex’s own policies. Any holds, reversals, refusals, delays, or transaction limits related to Podex exchange activity are handled by Podex, not FurrySide. FurrySide does not control Podex account decisions or exchange transaction processing.

3.5 Podex Exchange

FurrySide may provide an official FurBucks exchange option through Podex Exchange (“Podex”), a third-party service. If you choose to use the Podex exchange terminal, FurrySide will transmit to Podex only the minimum information required to complete the transaction: your in-world avatar name and unique avatar identifier (UUID). Podex is a separate service operated by a third party, and any exchange transaction you make through Podex is governed by Podex’s own terms and privacy practices. FurrySide is not responsible for Podex’s services, availability, fees, delays, reversals, or decisions to refuse or limit transactions. Podex may also collect additional information directly as part of providing its service, as described in Podex’s own privacy policy.

4. Virtual Land & Paid Services

4.1 Licensed Access

Virtual Land is licensed virtual space, not real-world property. Any land fees provide a limited, revocable license to access and use that land under our Virtual Land / Land Rental Policy.

4.2 Fees, Billing, and Refunds

Unless required by law, fees for Virtual Land and paid services are generally non-refundable. However, FurrySide may issue partial or full refunds or credits at our discretion in appropriate situations, such as billing errors, duplicate charges, or mistakes on our end. Service interruptions, maintenance, and downtime may occur. When practical, FurrySide will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of scheduled maintenance through available channels (e.g., website announcements, Discord, or email).

If FurrySide permanently discontinues the Service, we will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice through available channels when practical.

5. Community Conduct & Safety

Users are expected to uphold community standards and behave responsibly. Prohibited behavior includes (but is not limited to):

  • Illegal activity, threats, harassment, stalking, doxxing, hate-based abuse, or targeted intimidation
  • Sexual content or nudity outside designated Adult (“A”) regions
  • Fraud, scams, impersonation, or deceptive transactions
  • Exploiting bugs/cheats/vulnerabilities or disrupting servers/users
  • Unauthorized financial transactions or currency dealing outside official systems
  • Any depiction, promotion, or solicitation of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form
  • Nude child avatars are strictly prohibited, including “ageplay,” sexualized minor-coded avatars, or any content suggesting minors in sexual contexts

Violation may result in suspension or permanent termination.

5.1 Underage Accounts & CSAM Enforcement

No one under 14 is permitted to use FurrySide. Any account found to be underage will be terminated and may be permanently banned. Any adult material involving minors is strictly prohibited. If we become aware of apparent CSAM or sexual exploitation involving minors, we will take immediate action which may include locking down content/regions, preserving relevant records, terminating accounts, and reporting to the appropriate authorities and/or relevant reporting organizations.

6. Enforcement, Suspension, and Termination

6.1 Our Rights

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time for violations, suspected abuse, legal compliance, safety concerns, or operational reasons.

6.2 What Happens When Access Ends

If your account is suspended or terminated:

  • Your license to use the Service ends
  • You may lose access to User Content, FurBucks, and Virtual Land features
  • We may delete or retain data consistent with our Privacy Policy and legal obligations
  • We are not obligated to store, return, or export content or virtual assets

7. Service Availability, Disclaimers, and Limits

7.1 “As-Is” and “As-Available”

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, error-free performance, or that content/assets will be preserved.

7.2 No Warranty

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement.

7.3 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, FurrySide will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of data, profits, revenue, or virtual assets. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid to FurrySide in the last 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim (or $0 if you paid nothing), unless law requires otherwise.

7.4 Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless FurrySide from claims, damages, and expenses arising from your User Content, your conduct, or your violation of these Terms.

8. Dispute Resolution / Arbitration (Important)

Before filing a claim, you agree to contact FurrySide support to attempt informal resolution.

If the dispute is not resolved, any dispute or claim arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

The arbitration will take place in Texas, United States and may be conducted remotely if permitted by the arbitration provider. Nothing in this section prevents either party from bringing an eligible claim in small claims court.

Some jurisdictions do not allow arbitration or do not permit certain limitations on consumer rights or remedies. Where those laws apply, the required local laws will control to the extent they override this section.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post changes with a new Effective Date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
